Flocknote

One of the best ways to keep in touch with St. Ed’s at all times, and especially in these difficult times, is via Flocknote.  Flocknote is an e-mail and text platform being used by St. Ed’s, the Diocese of Gary and many other parishes.  You can sign-up via your cell phone by texting stedlowell to 84576 ; by using a web browser and going to stedwardlowell.flocknote.com or using the following form:

Notice:  Returning to Mass with social distancing restrictions & other safety requirements. Under Indiana Governor Holcomb’s five-stage plan, churches are able to once again have public worship, but with restrictions.  Bishop McClory has extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until August 15, 2020.  We will continue streaming & posting of the Sunday 8 a.m. Mass from Saint Edward’s into the future.

We will return to Sunday Mass beginning on May 31, but with a maximum number of 40 people at each Mass. If you would like to be put on the reservation list for Sunday Mass, please either email Fr. Rick or call the office at 219-696-7307.  While we cannot guarantee the desired time or even an available slot on a given weekend, we will cycle through the list the following weekend, so all will have an equal opportunity to attend Mass under the restrictions in place. Additionally, anyone over the age of two will need to WEAR A MASK at Mass. You will need to provide your own mask. Also, we are asking that those receiving the Eucharist receive by hand for now.

Additionally, please note the following:

*Beginning May 25 thru September 8, Summer Office Hours will be 8:30am to 12:00pm & 1pm to 3pm

*If you need something & you think we can help please call or e-mail us.

*Calls for the Anointing of the Sick will be handled as before.

*The Food Pantry will be open on Thursdays but food will be brought to the client’s cars. The public may not enter the Pantry building.

*Those who are sick or who have existing compromising health conditions should continue to stay home. It is very highly recommended that those aged 65 & older also stay home for now.
