St. Matthias ITF

All middle & high school students are invited to attend Igniting the Fire at St. Matthias September 14-15. ITF has a prayerful retreat-style feel with elements of lock-in-style fun!  Mass, service projects, games, prayer, Adoration, Reconciliation, laughter, & so much more. Hope Center

Hope Center is hosting a picnic for Hope Center families facing cancer on Saturday, August 10. If you know a survivor who is NOT on our mailing list or a family currently facing cancer, please contact Hope Center with their name, email & address so they can be invited. Call or text 552-1640. Mommy’s Haven Residence for pregnant women in need.. Field Day, games for all ages Saturday, August 17 at 9am at Freedom Park. Prizes for top teams.

Attorney General

Lake County Right To Life will be hosting Indiana’s pro-life Attorney General Curtis Hill on Thursday, August 22 at 6pm at the Lake County Public Library in Merrillville. Attorney General Hill will be discussing his fight for our pro-life legislation & other pro family legislation here in Indiana, and what to expect going further. Finger food & refreshments will be offered.

Faith Concert

Free Concert Event. Let Your Light Shine – August 3 at the Shrine of Christ’s Passion. Doors open at 2pm. Praise & Worship Bands from Faith Church at 3pm, Living Stones Church at 4:30pm, St. John the Evangelist at 6:00pm, Featuring PJ Anderson from Nashville, TN performing at 7:30pm. Spred

Spred (special religious development) Join us at St. Mary Parish in Griffith on Monday, July 8 at 6:30pm for an information gathering about the Spred program for people with developmental, intellectual, & learning challenges of any age or level of abilities. This program helps fellow parishioners see our friends in the light of God’s eyes. Come & learn more.

Catholic Youth Program

Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) July 14 – 19.  Elementary School (Gr 1-6) Monday-Friday 9am-2:30pm.  Middle & High School (Gr 7-12) Sunday-Thursday 7pm-9pm.  Cost for Parish Families is $10 per family.  Non-Parishioners cost is $25 per youth or $50 per family.  Registration forms available in Parish Office & Church Vestibule.

Bishop Hying

Bishop Hying will celebrate Holy Mass for the Hispanic Community on Saturday, June 15 at 4pm at Bishop Noll Fieldhouse in Hammond. In addition, the Bishop will celebrate Holy Mass on the Solemnity of the Body & Blood of the Lord, Sunday, June 23 at Holy Angels Cathedral at 2pm. All are welcome to celebrate Mass with the Bishop, especially those from the western half of the diocese. A reception will follow the Mass.

Pilgrimage & Blessing of Truck Drivers

Sunday, June 9 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine (The Salvatorian Fathers) in Merrillville 884-0714. Mass in the Polish at 12 pm, followed by blessing of trucks & drivers (rain or shine) at approximately 1pm. A cafeteria-style Polish meal can be purchased in the Millennium Hall afterwards. It is requested that only semi-truck tractor units be brought to the shrine for the blessing (no trailers, please).

Retrouvaille

Attend the Retrouvaille of Northwest Indiana marriage help weekend in Portage from May 3-5. The Retrouvaille Program is for married couples facing difficult challenges in their relationship. It is Catholic in origin, & helps couples restore their marriage & build a loving relationship. It is open to couples of all faiths or no faith background. Pray to End Abortion

The Knights of Columbus would like to invite all parishioners to join us on Saturday, March 30 at the hill in front of Planned Parenthood located at 8645 Connecticut in Merrillville. Come anytime between 8am & 2pm to pray for life. Bring a chair & park across the street from PP as we can not be on their property.
