YA Catholics NWI Camino

Young adult Catholics are invited to NWI Camino, a 2 day Spiritual pilgrimage walk for young adults (college-aged, 20’s, 30’s) from Crown Point to Hammond August 4-5. Inspired by the Camino de SanAago in Spain, you’ll walk 11 miles the first day, 7.2 miles the second day, with an optional overnight campout at Our Lady of Grace In Highland, featuring Pilgrim Mass with Bishop Hying. Free outdoor concert

The Diocese of Gary Office for Youth & Young Adults has partnered with the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John with a free concert Saturday, July 21 at the Shrine of Christ’s Passion featuring Briitt Edwards of Nashville and The PJ Anderson Band. The concert is free & open to the public. Doors open at 6pm, concert starts at 7:30. Food will be available for purchase. Please bring your own lawn chair.

Bishop Hying’s Birthday Bash

Mark your calendars for August 14 for Bishop Hying’s Birthday Bash 2018 at U.S. Steel Yard, home of the Gary South Shore RailCats. Tickets will be available for purchase through the parish office or online at www.catholicfuture.org. There are three options for tickets: $40 for game + BBQ + drinks or $30 for game + BBQ or $10 for game; children under three are free. Proceeds benefit Bishop Hying’s Mercy Fund to benefit works of mercy in our diocese.

Theology On Tap for Catholics age 21-39

St. Mary in Crown Point will host its Theology On Tap on Wednesdays – July 11, 18, 25, & Aug 1 at 7pm at Crown Brewing.  St. John the Evangelist will host its TOT on Tuesday, July 24 at Malt Brothers, St. John.  St. Michael hosts TOT on Thursdays – Aug. 9, 16, 23, starting at 7pm at Region Ale in Schererville.  For more information visit garyontap.com.

August 5 – Herr Farm 9804 W 219th Ave. Lowell 4pm. This mass is sponsored by St. John the Evangelist, St. Thomas More & Holy Name parishes. Celebrant: Rev. Jeff Burton. A pot luck meal will be served immediately after the Masses. Please bring a dish to share & your lawn chair to insure seating.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter

Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend on August 10-12 at the Wyndam Garden Hotel in Elk Grove Village, IL. The enrichment begins with a private weekend experience including 11 presentations about practical tools for growing in loving relationships, & provides ongoing enrichments after the weekend from the Worldwide Marriage Encounter community. Hope Center Walk

Hope Center, a ministry of the Lowell Church of Christ is hosting “A Journey of Hope” to celebrate NWI survivors. A 2.5 mile neighborhood walk through Lowell will begin at 9am; worship service at 10:30am; picnic lunch following for $5 per person for participants. Andrean open house

Andrean High School would like to invite students to our Entrance Exam/Shadow Day on Friday, May 11. Students are asked to check in by 7:45 am & enter through Door A. Students may also stay for a Shadow Day after the exam concludes at 11:30 am. The shadow portion of the day will conclude at 2:45 pm.
