St. Mary’s open house

St. Mary’s School in Crown Point is having their Annual Pancake Breakfast and Open House on Sunday, January 28.  Breakfast will be served from 7 am to noon. The Open House will start at 10:30 am and will end at 1 pm. The evening Open House will take place on Wednesday, January 31 from 6 to 8 pm.

March for Life

March for Life Chicago is on Sunday, January 14, 2018.  Bishop Donald Hying will be celebrating a pro-life kick-off Mass at Nativity in Portage at 11am & will be a featured guest speaker at the rally/march in Chicago at 2pm. St. Ed’s Advent Reconciliation Service is Thursday, December 21 at 7pm.  There’s no better way to prepare for our celebration of Christ’s birth at Christmas.

Seeking the light retreat

College students & young adults “Seeking the Light” retreat on Jan. 6 at Calumet College in Whiting. Fr. Kevin Scalf, C.PP.S. will lead participants through a variety of faith experiences centered around the Epiphany, bringing to life its meaning in our lives today. St. Mary Spaghetti Dinner

St. Mary Catholic School is hosting its 56th annual Spaghetti Supper on November 8. Tickets are $5 for seniors; $8 for adults ages 15-59; $5 for children 5-14; children 4 & younger eat free. You can purchase tickets at the door or in advance by calling 663-0676. Lunch served from 11:30am-2pm. Supper served 4:30pm-7:30pm.

Post-abortion support group

Catholic Charities Rachel Support Group Diocese of Gary provides a post-abortion support group in a safe, non-judgmental space with other women who share the same experience. All faiths welcome. Southlake Deanery of the Diocese of Gary is hosting a Catechetical Day on Sunday, November 5.  Where is God in the Chaos?  Listen to Sue Grenough Ph.D. help explore where we can find God in the busyness of our lives.  Conference held from 1-4pm which includes a keynote address, prayer, vendors, snacks & individual breakout sessions related to catechesis.
