Hospitality Ministry will be hosting a B B & B “Blessing of the Backpacks & BBQ” on August 17. Join us at the 5:00pm Mass. After Mass come on over to the gym where Father will bless backpacks. Together let us celebrate our youth starting a new school year, anyone going off to college, trade school or beginning an internship. Hot dogs will be served. Donations accepted.
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times at St. Edward will be Wednesday, August 14 at 7pm or Thursday, August 15 at 8am or Bilingual-English/Spanish at 7pm. No 5pm Wednesday Mass!
Children’s Faith Formation (CFF) registration on Tuesday, August 6 & 13 from 3-7pm & after all the Masses Saturday/Sunday August 10 & 11 in the gym. You can also register at the Ministry Center during office hours M-F 8:30am-3pm.
Liturgical Life of the Church Is kicking off their small faith sharing group with a 3 part DVD beginning on Thursday, July 11th from 6:30-7:30pm in the ministry center. For more information contact Betty Stachura at 690-0111 or Mary Huseman at 808-8971.
Our next Parish Blood Drive will take place in the gym on Tuesday, July 9 from 3-7pm. All presenting donors will receive an official NFL licensed Chicago Bears hat as a special thank you for donating. Please call Cheryl at 226-5182 to schedule an appointment or to help set up the afternoon of the blood drive Sign up sheet will be available July 6-7 in the vestibule.
Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) July 14 – 19. Elementary School (Gr 1-6) Monday-Friday 9am-2:30pm. Middle & High School (Gr 7-12) Sunday-Thursday 7pm-9pm. Cost for Parish Families is $10 per family. Non-Parishioners cost is $25 per youth or $50 per family. Registration forms available in Parish Office & Church Vestibule.

Memorial day Mass at St. Edward Cemetery (Burr Street) will be on Monday, May 27 at 9am. Bring your lawn chairs. In case of rain, Mass will be celebrated in church.
Fr. Rick will be away from the parish May 25-26. In his place, Fr. Philip Ley, representing Catholic Cross Outreach will be celebrating the weekend Masses.
Altar & Rosary members will sell tickets for Mother’s Day Gift Basket after Mass this weekend.
Anyone wishing to help with this year’s rummage sale, please attend a meeting on April 25 at 6pm in the gym.

The Masses for Ash Wednesday will be at 7am and 12pm & bilingual at 7pm on March 6. Ash Wednesday & Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting & abstinence. The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Church from age 14 onwards.
